Radnor Police Riding To Washington D.C.

RADNOR, PA—Radnor Township police officers are on their way to Washington, D.C., in the 2023 Police Unity Tour to raise awareness of officers fallen in the line of duty.

The riders departed Tuesday after a wreath-laying ceremony at Rose Tree Park with their final destination Friday being the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.

Police are stopping along the way to pay tribute to the men and women who have lost their lives who lost their lives on the job.

Ensuring their safety along the way, members of the Radnor Police Highway Patrol Unit and area police departments are escorting the riders.

A reception is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the National Law Enforcement Museum.

The tour began in 1997 in Florham Park, N.J., when Police Officer Patrick Montoure organized a ride to Washington, D.C. to ensure police officers who died in the line of duty were remembered.

In May 2022, the tour donated $2 million to the memorial fund, bringing the total donations to more than $3 million.
