In a shocker from Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly killed his elderly father with a hammer over property dispute. According to the police, following the murder, the murder accused, 30, allegedly chopped the 63-year-old victim’s body into pieces to fit it into a suitcase and dispose it off in UP’s Gorakhpur.

The accused, identified as Santosh Kumar Gupta alias Prince has been arrested. The victim was identified as Murli Dhar Gupta, the father of the accused. As per reports, the incident took place in Suraj Kund colony under Tiwaripur PS on Saturday night.
Police have lodged a case on Sunday after Prashant Gupta, the brother of the accused, approached police with a complaint. He said the murder was the fallout of a property dispute in the family.
“Finding him alone at home, the accused attacked the victim with a hammer. The victim died on the spot. Then brought a suitcase from brother’s room and kept the pieces of the body in suitcase and hid it in the street behind the house”.
“On the information of the accused’s brother, the police recovered the body parts and sent them for postmortem,” the official added.
Further investigation has begun, official added.

In similar news, a 26-year-old man from Virar in Maharashtra’s Palghar district allegedly strangulated his mother to death following an argument, an official said on Friday. The 44-year-old victim was identified as Vaishali Dhanu, who lived with her son at Gandhi Nagar colony in the Phulpada area of Virar, the official said.
“A couple of days back, the mother-son duo had a heated argument over some issue at a marriage function. On Thursday, when they started quarrelling again, the accused took a long cloth and strangled his mother with it in a fit of rage,” news agency PTI quoted a police source.
