Report: AEW hires former WWE VP of communications

AEW has hired a former longtime WWE employee.

According to a report from PWInsider, Adam Hopkins is now working for Tony Khan's promotion. He is said to have started on the road with AEW already and was present for last week's shows in St. Louis.

Hopkins first started with WWE in 1997 as a fan services coordinator. He was promoted on multiple occasions throughout his time there and was named Vice President of Communications in February 2022. However, he departed WWE in January for undisclosed reasons.

It is not yet clear what role or title Hopkins will hold in AEW.

At the time of his WWE departure, our own Dave Meltzer wrote the following regarding Hopkins:

Sorry to see Adam Hopkins, the VP of communications of WWE, no longer with the company. Aside from one period when he was let go and brought back, he's been there 25 years, and was always a pleasure to deal with.

Big E also responded to a social media post announcing Hopkins' departure from the company, writing:

A true professional and a great human. Really going to miss A Hop.
