The new international airport is located in the Northern part of Goa – about 35km away from Panaji, the capital city of Goa and approximately 100km from South Goa. Cost of Mopa International Airport
Built at a cost of Rs 2,870 crore on 2,312 acres by GMR Group’s special purpose vehicle Goa International Airport (GGIAL). The Mopa International Airport will start operations starting January 5, 2023. The Mopa Airport will boost air connectivity and tourism in Goa which will give a fillip to the socio-economic development of the region.
The Goa’s Mopa International Airport’s foundation stone was laid in November 2016. Now Goa has two airports, the first one is located at Dabolim and the second one is Mopa Airport located in North Goa’s Pernem taluka, 33 km from the state capital Panaji. The Mopa airport offers several world-class upgrades with sustainable infrastructure as per officials.

According to official information, Mopa International Airport has adopted some of the best-in-class technologies like 3-D Monolithic Precast buildings, StabilRoad, Robomatic Hollow precast walls, and 5G compatible IT infrastructure.
As per official sources, Mopa airport has world-class facilities that include a runway of Mopa Airport capable of handling the world’s largest aircraft, 14 parking bays along with a night parking facility for aircraft, self-baggage drop facilities, state-of-the-art and independent air navigation infrastructure, among others.
