Lockport Approves $300K For Water Main At Archer, Maryknoll Drive

LOCKPORT, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, The Lockport City Council approved a $300,000 water main installation project at Archer Avenue and Maryknoll Drive.

The project aims to support development at the commercial center at Maryknoll Drive along Archer Avenue, council documents state.

According to council documents, the City will install 800 feet water main. Currently, there is no public water main in the area, and the building has been served by a private water main.

The private water main does not have the capacity to serve the entire building, according to council documents.

The project will be done by the City’s Public Works and Engineering department. According to city documents, the project also gives an opportunity to continue the City water main along Archer Avenue to connect with Northern Avenue and eventually the existing water main on 151st Street.
