Mob attacked family with rods
Vaishali is a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) graduate and works as a house surgeon in Adibatla village of Ranga Reddy district. Although only 40 men can be seen in the video, the woman’s parents have alleged that at least 100 men barged into their house. As per the video, the young assailants armed with sticks and rods vandalised the woman’s house, smashed car windows and attacked her relatives and neighbours when they resisted.
Accused wanted to marry woman
The woman’s family has accused a man named Naveen Reddy of leading the mob and kidnapping the woman. Naveen, an owner of a few tea shops in the area, has allegedly been harassing the woman of late to marry her.
It all started when Naveen went to the victim’s house with his tea stall workers, claiming his ‘wife’ refused to live with him, and he was there to take her home.
According to reports, the woman was in a relationship but has professed that she is not married.
“They had met while playing badminton, and were on friendly terms. He (Naveen) then proposed marriage through some mediators, but she rejected the proposal. We refused through the mediators. He had been complaining about it to others, questioning the rejection,” the woman’s father, Damodar Reddy, told TV9.
Victim rescued, cops arrest 18 people
Vaishali was rescued after an hours-long operation by the police and some of the accused have been picked up.
The cops have arrested 18 people, including Naveen. They have said they are trying to identify and arrest the others involved in the kidnapping.
