How they foiled the robbery attempt

They were both sitting at the Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank entrance in Senduari Chowk of Sadar police station area when three men tried to enter, security camera footage of the incident showed.

When asked to show their documents, one of the men drew a pistol, but both Juhi and Shanti leapt to their feet and challenged them. “I asked if all three had work in the bank, and they said yes. I asked them to show the passbook and that’s when they pulled out a gun,” Juhi said as per NDTV.

The brave police challenged the trio and a struggle ensued as the criminals tried to snatch the rifles of the female cops, but the latter succeeded in fighting them off. Eventually, the robbers decided to run away.

Sharing the footage on Twitter, Bihar Police tweeted, “The gallant act of two lady constables of Bihar Police is laudable. Their bravery thwarted an attempt of bank robbery in Vaishali.”

One of the cops got injured in the scuffle

Juhi Kumari, injured in the scuffle, tried to shoot the fleeing thieves and managed to foil the attempted robbery. “Men tried to overpower us and snatch our guns, but we had decided that we wouldn’t let them rob the bank, no matter what,” Shanti said, adding that Juhi cocked her gun at them and was about to shoot when they ran away.

The incident caused panic in the area and police officials arrived at the spot. Police have registered a case and a search is on to capture the suspects based on CCTV footage.
