Mohammed Siraj Is Now The No. 1 Bowler In ODIs

Mohammed Siraj is now at the top position in the ICC rankings for ODI bowlers, as per PTI.

Siraj surpassed Trent Boult and Josh Hazlewood to become No. 1 for the first time ever.

Siraj has been in good form for the last one year or so and in the ODI series at home vs Sri Lanka and New Zealand, he has shown how better he has gotten.

Paras Mhambrey, our bowling coach, challenged Siraj to improve in certain areas in 2022 and he is now reaping the benefits.

Siraj took 9 wickets vs Sri Lanka and a four-wicket haul in the 1st ODI vs New Zealand.

Siraj leads the pack with 729 rating points.

Skipper Rohit Sharma could not stop praising Siraj after the clean sweep vs New Zealand.

“He has done really well, he understands what the team is expecting from him,” he said.

“To come and take the new ball, swing the ball, get early wickets. In the middle overs too, he’s got so much skill. The more he plays, the better he gets,” he added.

Siraj has 38 wickets in 21 ODIs with a best of 4/32. With the World Cup less than 9 months away, he is an ideal partner for the likes of Shami and Bumrah in the playing XI.
