1st Chick-Fil-A In Gloucester Twp. Sets Projected Opening

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township is getting its first Chick-fil-A. But it’s expected to take a couple years.

Chick-fil-A expects the restaurant to open in late 2026, a company spokesperson told Patch. It will be located in a vacant lot near Gloucester Premium Outlets.

The Gloucester Township Planning Board approved the development last week. Read more: Chick-Fil-A Approved For Gloucester Twp.

Chick-fil-A is going in a vacant lot that’s fallen into disrepair. The site of the future restaurant is currently an empty lot at the corner of Premium Outlets and Zimmerman drives.

Local officials have deemed the property in need of redevelopment — a designation that can help streamline construction processes. Gloucester Premium Outlets has agreed to sell the property to the developer, Main Street MDT LLC, according to township documents.

Once complete, Chick-fil-A will have a 5,400-square-foot restaurant that seats 82 guests and as multiple drive-thru lanes.

It will be Chick-fil-A’s first restaurant in the township, the company says.

“We look forward to joining the community, where each locally owned and operated restaurant creates 80 to 120 jobs, and to serving all of our guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality,” a Chick-fil-A spokesperson said via email.

Currently, the area’s nearest Chick-fil-A is 2 miles away in Turnersville, according to the restaurant chain’s website.
