The Chloe Belle Foundation Of LI Gets $10K Grant From Dunkin' Joy In Childhood Foundation

NORTHPORT, NY — The Chloe Belle Foundation of Northport received a $10K grant from the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation.

Remi Lindberg, president of The Chloe Belle Foundation, said she was “overjoyed” when she heard her nonprofit was selected to receive a grant.

“I almost didn’t even believe it was real,” Lindberg told Patch. “I was so grateful. We constantly want to do more to further our mission but of course, we are also bound financially. This grant is such a gift. It will allow us to continue and to do more.”

Dunkin’s foundation offers grants to nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of children battling hunger or illness across the country.

“When children face health and hunger issues, it robs them of the simple joys of childhood,” the foundation’s website reads. “The Joy in Childhood Foundation’s goal is to help kids feel like kids, even on their most difficult days.”

The Chloe Belle Foundation recently received the check, which Lindberg said was “the best day ever!”

Based on the rules of the Dunkin’ grant, foundations that receive it must fit a certain category and allocate funds accordingly, Lindberg said. Her charity’s mission aligns with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation’s goal of bringing joy to children.

“We also include young adults and adults in our own mission but because of this, we will use our Dunkin’ Joy grant for children,” Lindberg said. “We don’t know exactly what we will do, but we are definitely going to continue what we have been doing for our TCBF kids.”

The Chloe Belle Foundation was founded in memory of Chloe Lindberg, who was only 26 when she died of acute myeloid leukemia in January 2021. She fought the cancer for 13 months after she was diagnosed at age 25.

The grant was “extra special” because it reminds Lindberg of her sister.

Chloe was “the biggest Dunkin’ girl,” Lindberg said. Her go-to order was hot or iced coffee with extra half and half, plus sugar.

“I feel like she is still around and she is sending a little sign to confirm that,” Lindberg said.

By receiving the grant, Lindberg said she feels The Chloe Belle Foundation has been “seen in some way.”

“And in that, I feel like Chloe is seen and that’s my ultimate goal,” she said. “For people to remember and know Chloe.”
