Walk Of Fame 2023: Honoring The Princess, Friends, Tupac And Macaulay

HOLLYWOOD, CA — This year the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored actor Zac Efron with the 2,767th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the last star of the year. But 2023 was a year of firsts for the sidewalk full of famous names.

That includes Pentatonix, who became the first a capella group to earn a star; “Queen of Percussion” Sheila E., the first female solo percussionist to appear on the walk; and Michael Strahan, whose two Emmy wins, NFL Hall of Fame status and Peabody award required the creation of a whole new Walk of Fame category: Sports Entertainment.

In total, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored more than two dozen actors, musicians and other celebrities with stars in 2023.

Several stars went to dearly departed famous figures. Carrie Fisher earned her star on May 4 in a nod to “May the 4th”— the unofficial “Star Wars” day. “Goodfellas” icon Ray Liotta was honored with a star in February. And Tupac Shakur was awarded a star in June, nearly three decades after his death.
