Niantic Mental Health Organization Completes Renovation, Expansion

EAST LYME, CT — A renovation and expansion project has been completed at a Niantic nonprofit organization. The Brian Dagle Foundation “has created a safe, warm, and inviting place for those who have lost children, parents, siblings, or dear friends, and are navigating the road of grief,” according to a Facebook post from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut.

Foundation President Ann Irr Dagle said the organization was founded in 2014 following the suicide of her 19-year-old son in 2011.

The foundation is “anchored in hope and empowered to support,” and “is dedicated to the healing of grieving adults as well as community education on mental health and suicide awareness.”

The project included adding The Cottage to the foundation, which serves as an additional meeting space built to support the “increasing need for our services,” Ann Dagle said. The foundation serves the community through programming for suicide awareness and mental health with programs such as LAX2LIVE and QPR trainings.

Each year, the Brian Dagle Foundation runs the annual Niantic Jingle Bell 5K and Walk with over 1,000 walkers and runners each year, Ann Dagle said.
