WATERFORD, CT — Popular fast casual Mexican grill chain Chipotle officially opened its first restaurant in Waterford this week.
A Chipotle spokesperson confirmed to Patch the new Chipotle restaurant opened to the public Wednesday at 124 Boston Post Road in Waterford.
“We’re always looking for new communities where we can serve responsibly sourced, classically-cooked, real food and establish new local partnerships,” the spokesperson said in an email to Patch, “and the Waterford area is a great fit.

The Waterford restaurant features the brand’s signature “Chipotlane,” a drive thru pick-up lane that allows guests to conveniently pick up digital orders without leaving their cars.
The spokesperson also noted Chipotle is currently hiring at the Waterford location. There are approximately 30 jobs available per Chipotle location.

The Waterford restaurant is open every day from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The developer, Kinora Waterford LLC, was represented by Matt Halprin of New England Retail Properties, Inc., according to additional press materials provided by the Wethersfield-based real estate agency.
The tenant was represented by Trevor McNiven of Venture Retail Properties.
A request for comment from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut was not immediately returned Wednesday.
Chipotle now operates 35 locations in Connecticut, including restaurants in the nearby communities of Groton, Glastonbury, Manchester and Middletown.
