Officers spoke to a 37-year-old woman at the scene and learned that Brown approached her and asked her for money. After the victim advised Brown that she was not going to give him money, he became angry and started to yell obscenities at her.
Brown then shoved her to the ground and then began punching her multiple times while on top of her. It is believed that the victim did not know Brown prior to this incident.
After Brown was taken into custody, he began acting erratically, leading officers to believe that
he may be under the influence of an unknown substance. A Joliet Fire Department ambulance
took Brown to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center where Brown was uncooperative with hospital staff. He was released from the hospital a short time later.
While at the Joliet Police Department, Brown made numerous threats to shoot and kill the arresting officers and harm the officers’ families. Brown was photographed but refused to be processed further, and he was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
