MANCHESTER, CT — A Manchester man has entered a guilty plea in a two-year-old federal firearms case.
Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut, said that 36-year-old Timothy Turman, also known as “Murder,” entered a guilty plea Thursday in Hartford federal court to a firearms offense.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on April 9, 2022, Turman was arrested by Bloomfield Police after he was found in possession of a loaded Taurus, Millennium PT-145, .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol with an obliterated serial number.

Turman’s criminal history includes state felony convictions in 2005 for possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, and in 2006, for robbery in the first degree, Avery said.
It is a violation of federal law for a person previously convicted of a felony offense to possess a firearm that has moved in interstate or foreign commerce, Avery said..

Turman pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny on July 2, at which time he faces a maximum prison term of 10 years.
He has been detained since his arrest.
