ANNANDALE, VA — A Fairfax County teacher was honored with the Recording Academy’s 2024 Grammy Music Educator Award ahead of last weekend’s star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles.
Annie Ray, orchestra director and Performing Arts Department chair at Annandale High School, received the award Saturday and was selected from 1o finalists, according to the academy.
Each year, the Music Educator Award is given to a teacher who has “made a significant and lasting contribution to the music education field and who also demonstrates a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools,” the academy states on the Grammys website.
