The older man was Rocco Chirichillo, 72, of Perth Amboy, who was crossing the road using a walker. Police located Chirichillo, who had succumbed to his injuries in the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Farrier-Romero was the driver of the white Dodge Charger. He was arrested later that day and charged with second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash resulting in death.
