LAKEWOOD, NJ — The investigation into a fire at a vacant lumberyard building in Lakewood that injured two people Monday night was continuing Tuesday, Lakewood police said.

Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith did not have updated information on the medical conditions of the two people, who were believed to be squatters at the building at 133 Ocean Ave.

The property is owned by Hampton Development, which bought the property for $2 million in 2015, according to Ocean County property records. Hampton purchased it from Dinaso and Sons Building Supply Company, according to the records. The property is listed for sale.
