HAUPPAUGE, NY — Suffolk’s internet system experienced connectivity issues Friday morning, county spokeswoman Marykate Guilfoyle said.
The county’s IT department had been implementing security updates that temporarily led to internet connectivity issues, but they “have all since been resolved,” she said.
Guilfoyle described the updates as “routine security updates” that the county performs.

The security updates were not connected to the recent 911 outage, according to Guilfoyle.
The police department’s 911 system was experiencing issues but only with Verizon mobile callers last month.
