HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board on Monday plans to vote on a severance agreement for an administrator, likely Superintendent Tammy Prentiss.
The board’s agenda did not name Prentiss, but a new majority that took control last month suspended her shortly after.
Reached for comment Saturday, Prentiss referred questions to board President Catherine Greenspon, who has not returned messages for comment.

The agenda item refers to an “administrator employment and retirement agreement.” Prentiss’ current contract lasts through July 31, 2024, which is when she plans to retire.
Also on Monday, the board is set to vote on an item labeled “employee acting status.” This is likely the appointment of an acting superintendent.

For the last month, Chris Covino, assistant superintendent for academics, has served as acting superintendent. But his last day is June 30, when he is leaving to become superintendent of La Grange School District 102.
Prentiss makes $277,000 a year. An agreement for her early retirement may include a large severance payment, as sometimes happens in such cases.
Prentiss became superintendent four years ago, after having served as an assistant superintendent for a number of years.
