Lokomotiv Moscow striker Wilson Isidor fails Lyon medical

Lokomotiv Moscow French forward Wilson Isidor (22) has failed his Lyon medical, the club have announced. The 22-year-old had been targeted by Les Gones to compensate for the loan move of Karl Toko Ekambi (30) to Rennes.

Isidor, a former Rennes youth product, scored nine goals in 24 appearances for the Russian club. Six of which came in his first six matches with the club, earning him player of the month in the Russian Premier League.

Convinced by a return to France after talking with OL head coach Laurent Blanc as well as with president Jean-Michel Aulas, Isidor arrived at Lyon this Saturday to finalize his transfer.

The deal, though, has fallen through. Lyon claim that the results of Isidor’s medical tests will not allow him to complete his loan move with an option to buy. Ligue 1’s ninth-placed side add that Isidor has been suffering from consistent pain in his knee for the last fifteen days and needs to stay on the sidelines before being able to resume official competition. Furthermore, Lyon indicate they will remain in contact with both Isidor and Lokomotiv Moscow in case of a future transfer.
