There were a few hairy moments on Leinster’s redirected flight to Bristol last night

AHEAD OF THIS afternoon’s PRO12 game away to Cardiff Blues, the Leinster squad made what should have been a routine trip from Dublin to the Welsh capital last night.

Joining them on their Cityjet flight were the Clontarf U12s and U13s, who secured a number of autographs and selfies with the players in the airport.

It was all smiles before take-off, but the mood quickly changed when high winds and bad weather caused some turbulence along the way.

Dave Kearney filmed the reaction to news that the a second attempt to land had failed and Ben Te’o later posted it on Instagram.

Eventually, the plane was redirected to nearby Bristol and touched down just before 8pm.

From the comfort of his hotel room, Te’o later joked about thoughts that had gone through his head during the “near death experience”.

He talked of never getting the chance to become a father and considered who would play him in a film.
